The dark photograph was taken inside the slave dungeon. The contrast stays with you.

Not my favourite picture but the interview is pretty cool.
Click here for the link .A really enjoyable afternoon today at Writers 2000 at the Rand Aid Club House in Modderfontein. Full of wit and good humour https://www.facebook.com/Writers2000 Last week at the Writers' Group with Tanya, Janet, Bonnie, Gillian and Tharawat. This group just keeps going.... The week before at the Jozi Book Fair with Lungi, William, Futhi, Bridget and friends...
I first saw this painting on the wall at the Oyster Box in Durban. I liked it so much I took a picture of it and had it reproduced as a Mother's Day gift for Bridget. Unfortunately I don't know who the original artist is. But it tells a great story don't you think?
What a passionately honest group of book lovers! So many nationalities, such depth of feeling. It was well worth it getting lost on the way to Cyrildene.
Thank you Lungi for the invitation, and to Celeste for the photos (not these, hers are much better). And thank you Bridget for sharing your story. |
